Forward Trucking Services Ltd, established in 1968, are a family run business based in St Albans, Hertfordshire and are a division of the FTS Group.

Our extensive knowledge and five decades in the business, allows us to provide a reliable, flexible and professional service, giving you options to meet your capacity, cost and delivery date requirements.

Owned by brother and sister Stephen and Jane Mackay, the business has now passed down three generations.

Our senior management team of Peter Samuel – Group Managing Director (pictured far right) and Andrew Bull – Group Operatons Director (pictured right) ensure the FTS Group are recognised as a trusted and reliable partner for businesses and end users.

a rich history in haulage

Founded in 1968 by George Mackay Snr in Islington, London as Forward Traffic Services Ltd, the company delivered steel and paving to construction sites. His son George Mackay Jnr joined the business in the mid-1970s with George Snr retiring in the 1980s. George Jnr continued running the business until 2005 when he took a step back from the day-to day operations but remained active in the decision making and direction of the business. Sadly, George Jnr became unexpectedly ill in 2017 and passed away in January 2018.

The FTS Group is now under the ownership of George Jnr's children Stephen Mackay and Jane Mackay and has remained a thriving, successful business.
